Hi, I'm Tim Nguyen, a Sophomore at Boston University studying Statistics and Computer Science with a minor in Deaf Studies. I have a strong interest in robotics, machine learning, and computer vision.
I am an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the MIT SPARKLab, where I am working on various projects related to computer vision and robotics. I had the opportunity to work on 3D keypoint extraction and tracking with Lorenzo Shaikewitz. I am currently working with Dominic Maggio on semantics within generative 3D scenes.
Prior to my current work in computer vision, I had the opportunity to work with with Prof. Hank Yang at the Harvard Computational Robotics Lab, where I developed a sim2real deployment pipeline to deploy policies trained in IsaacLab onto real-world robots, as well as to facilate online learning. My work focused on introducing these models to adapt to terrain that can't be model in simulation through online learning. At Harvard, I also worked on developing an efficient 3D Gaussian Splatting Pipeline.
Before coming to Harvard, I was again at SPARKLab working with Dr. Jingnan Shi and Prof. Luca Carlone, where I did a project on photogrammetry.
Research Interests: I am currently interested in exploring the intersection of computer vision and robotics, specifically in the areas of 3D reconstruction and semantic understanding in vision. I want to allow robots to understand the world around them and be able to adapt to it, like us humans.
Personal Interests: I am an avid sailor, and a part of the BU Sailing Team. I also love to go on hikes, planespot, and 3D Model during my free time. Also feel free to check out my blog.
These projects covered some of my research projects I worked on before.

In full honesty, I know nothing about sports, let alone basketball. Instead, I am trying to feed data to a model to help me make an "educated" guess of the brackets.
