Use Siri to play and listen to music on HomePod
Use Siri to play your favorite music services on HomePod.
Note: Some music services require a subscription. Some requests may not work with all music services.
Play music on HomePod
Siri: Ask Siri something like:
“Play some music.”
“I like this” or “I don’t like this music.”
“Play the other version.”
“Next song” or “Previous track.”
“Play some party music.”
“Play hip-hop from the 1990s.”
“Play something totally different.”
“What’s the song that goes ‘I once was lost, but now am found’?”
Note: Lyric search isn’t available in all languages.
“Play Apple Music 1 radio.”
“What album is this?”
“When was this song released?”
Add a third-party music service to HomePod
When you add a supported music service to your HomePod, you can play music from that app without having to mention the app by name. Some music services require a subscription.
Note: Not all music services are supported on HomePod. To use Siri to play music from non-connected music services, see Play audio on HomePod using iPhone or iPad.
Sign in to the supported music service app on your iPhone or iPad.
In the music service app, go to its settings, then add the music service to your HomePod.
Go to the Home app
, tap
, then tap Home Settings.
Note: If you have more than one home, settings are shown for your current home (based on your location). To edit a different home, tap Homes, then tap the home you want to edit.
In the People section, tap your name.
In the Connected Media section, tap the music service.
If you don’t want to use a music service with HomePod, you can remove it. In the Home app, tap , tap Home Settings, then tap your user profile. Tap the music service, then turn off Use in Home.
You can also set the user account that is used when someone’s voice isn’t recognized. In the Home app on your iPhone or iPad, tap a HomePod, tap , then tap Primary User.
