McCarrick Edit
[edit]Hi, I recently made an edit to McCarrick’s page and accidentally removed the last half of his page, which happened because the notepad I copied and pasted from isn’t capable of taking such a massive amount of characters. Please take a closer look at my edit, they are constructive edits. Can those edits be restored? 2600:387:16:114:0:0:0:3 (talk) 01:39, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry I didn't get back to you quickly. I'll take another look at your edits later. Thanks! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something?) 03:54, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Double You Tee Eff
[edit]I have no idea where I'm going with this, I've never been in the Wiki underbelly and I don't have a Wiki account, but I got two urgent pop-up messages threatening me with "vandalism" apparently concerning some edit made to a page about "Toothpaste". This is a topic I have never even looked up, let alone edited, so I'm completely in the dark about what's going on and how to deal with it. Your name was linked, which is how I got here, but I have no idea what any of this means and I really don't have the time to go take a course on Wiki-ing. So I have no clue if I'm even talking to the right entity or if anyone's reading this but I won't take kindly to threats.
Also I notice the date is entirely wrong. Wiki's telling me I wrote this on June 1 2025, which is in the future amd hasn't even happened yet. Whether this is related to the errant threat-message, or the phantom "edit" I never made, I have no idea but just furnishing an observation. 64.188.201.83 (talk) 01:24, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- It looks like you were already answered on the Help Desk, but I'm going to answer here. As the message says, it was probably someone else using the same IP address. The template messages me and the other editor sent you are not "threats", they were simple warnings to whoever made those edits. Also, they were posted weeks ago - my screen says May 7th.
- You're not going to get blocked. If your IP address did get blocked because of the other editor, you could create an account if you wanted to edit.
- Basically, the messages aren't a big deal, but thanks for asking. Have a nice day. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something?) 16:37, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
Bristol University
[edit]Hi John, you retracted my edits to the Bristol University wikipedia page and im sorry if they came across as unhelpful, i'm just a bit confused as there is no wikipedia for the university from the cult film and some of the information detailed here corresponds with the fictional Bristol University. Is there a way to create a new page for the university in the 1998 Jizzy Jizzum film? cheers 86.152.49.225 (talk) 22:22, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm not sure what film you're referring to, but if you'd like to create an article for the film, I'd recommend reading WP:YFA, which is a useful guide to creating your first article. If you mean to create an article about a fictional university in this film, it's likely not notable enough to merit its own article. Hope this was helpful! 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something?) 22:29, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

how can I add something from your user page
[edit]Specifaly, "Recent changes patroller". YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere (talk) 13:52, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- @YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere Just copy and paste this on your user page:
- {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}}
- In the future, you can just go into the source editor and copy it from there. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something? Ping me!) 14:06, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere (talk) 14:07, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- I didnt know where to go in the source editor YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere (talk) 14:07, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- @YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere When you hit the edit button, there should be somewhere where it says "visual editor" (it depends on what device you're on). There's a dropdown there where you can switch to source editor. 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something? Ping me!) 14:09, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- I know how to switch between the two its just in source or visual editing (I primarily edit in visual but use source when I steal a userbox). Like how do I get the userbox "Trout this user" YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere (talk) 14:11, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- @YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere Aside from stealing it off of someone's user page, you can go to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Galleries and look for it there. Does that answer your question? 🏳️🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something? Ping me!) 14:19, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- yes YourLocalZakkFromSomewhere (talk) 14:21, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
