The 1830 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on January 16, 1830, in order to elect the Governor of Virginia. Former Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia's 20th district John Floyd defeated fellow Democrat and former member of the Virginia House of Delegates from Stafford County Peter V. Daniel in a Virginia General Assembly vote.[1]

On election day, January 16, 1830, Democratic nominee John Floyd won the election against fellow Democrat Peter V. Daniel. Floyd was sworn in as the 25th Governor of Virginia on March 4, 1830.[2]
