We discuss the application of Siegel Modular Forms to Black Hole entropy counting. The role of the Igusa cusp form χ10 in the D1D5P system is well-known, and its transformation properties are what allows precision microstate counting in this case. We apply a similar method to extract the Fourier coefficients of other Siegel modular and paramodular forms, and we show that they could serve as candidates for other types of black holes. We investigate the growth of their coefficients, identifying…

Black hole entropy function, attractors and precision counting of microstates

In these lecture notes we describe recent progress in our understanding of attractor mechanism and entropy of extremal black holes based on the entropy function formalism. We also describe precise

Logarithmic corrections to Schwarzschild and other non-extremal black hole entropy in different dimensions

Euclidean gravity results provide strong constraint on any ultraviolet completion of the theory if the latter is able to give an independent computation of the entropy of non-extremal black holes from microscopic description.

Exact black hole degeneracies and the topological string

Motivated by the recent conjecture of Ooguri, Strominger and Vafa, we compute the semi-canonical partition function of BPS black holes in = 4 and = 8 string theories, to all orders in perturbation

Black hole attractors and the topological string

A simple relationship of the form ZBH = |Ztop|2 is conjectured, where ZBH is a supersymmetric partition function for a four-dimensional BPS black hole in a Calabi-Yau compactification of Type II

Corrections to the statistical entropy of five dimensional black holes

We compute the statistical entropy of the three charge (D1-D5-p) five dimen- sional black hole to sub-leading order in a large charge expansion. We find an agreement with the macroscopic calculation

Logarithmic corrections to N = 2 black hole entropy : an infrared window into the microstates

This work uses quantum entropy function formalism to compute logarithmic corrections to the entropy of half BPS black holes in N = 2 supersymmetric string theories, and finds agreement with the measure proposed by Denef and Moore if they assume their result to be valid at weak topological string coupling.

Black hole microstate counting and its macroscopic counterpart

We survey recent results on the exact dyon spectrum in a class of supersymmetric string theories, and discuss how the results can be understood from the macroscopic viewpoint using AdS2/CFT1

Supersymmetric index from black hole entropy

For BPS black holes with at least four unbroken supercharges, we describe how the macroscopic entropy can be used to compute an appropriate index, which can be then compared with the same index

AdS3 black holes and a stringy exclusion principle

The duality relating near-horizon microstates of black holes obtained as orbifolds of a subset of AdS3 to the states of a conformal field theory is analyzed in detail. The SL(2,R)L?SL(2,R)R invariant

Small black holes and near-extremal CFTs

A bstractPure theories of AdS3 quantum gravity are conjectured to be dual to CFTs with sparse spectra of light primary operators. The sparsest possible spectrum consistent with modular invariance
